13/11/07 Flares

Thank you to members that have donated 'flares' to the Marine Academy in the past.

Due to safety reasons we can only accept 'in-date' flares. If you are renewing your flares and happen to have any that are still in-date the Marine Academy will gladly accept them for training purposes for our 'safety days'.

Any out of date (expired) flares that you have should be taken to your local police station for disposal.

Environmental Levy - Slipping

As from the 1st November 2007 a levy will be applied to all slipping. The Levy of $11.00 (inclusive of GST) has been put in place to offset the growing fees and charges being imposed on the Club by regulatory bodies involving environmental protection and safety.

3/1/07 INFORMATION FOR BOAT OWNERS

Compliance is required for the below items by 1 August 2006 and will be checked annually together with your insurance details.

New Regulations for electrical connection of vessels in the CYCSA to shore power.

Isolating Transformer/ Galvanic Isolator
It is a requirement that all vessels using shore power in the CYCSA marina basin shall be fitted with an approved isolation transformer or alternatively a galvanic isolating system (Blocker).

Power Leads
As well as vessels connected to shore power they must do so via an approved, tested and tagged power lead that complies with AS/NZS 3004:2002, the current standard for use of leads in a marina environment. Ensure tags are visible at shore end.
Failure to comply with these requirements for safe use of electrical power in the CYCSA mooring basin and the hardstand area will result in non-complying systems being disconnected.

A copy of the current Australian Standard for marina electrical installation is available for members use and familiarisation at the main office.
